TexturingOriginally the textures were asked to be realistic, though revisions for use-case and project timeliness fortunately lead to a revision towards a more engaging art style.
Textures were made from materials, baked in with Ambient Occlusion, then further hand-painted for wear and variation. A final bake to include lighting from light sources from the Moon and lamp, with realistic shadows and window emissions. Final maps are 3x 2k Texture Maps: Diffuse and Normal. Compressed to JPEGs to optimise file size. |
ConclusionThis was a great piece to work on. I loved to collaborate with content writers and other 3D artists on this Story Scenes project pack. It was rewarding and useful to create an art style, defining technical limitations, and support the project team with consistent updates and renders. Working in a low-poly style and having the freedom to concept and design myself was a thoroughly exciting time.
